Requires bright, filtered or indirect light. While it needs strong light to maintain its tight rosette pattern and unique gray-red coloring, avoid direct, harsh summer afternoon sun which can blister its specialized succulent window panes.
Highly vulnerable to root rot. You must allow the potting mix to dry out almost completely between waterings. In winter, reduce watering dramatically to a light sip only when the leaves feel slightly soft to a gentle squeeze. Unlike other Peperomia, it must never sit in sodden or waterlogged soil.
Demands an incredibly porous, gritty, and mineral-heavy soil mix. Combine a standard coco-coir tropical base with a large amount of pumice, perlite, and coarse sand. It has a very small, shallow root system and prefers to remain slightly pot-bound; plant it in the smallest container possible with active drainage holes.
