Strictly winter-growing and summer-dormant. It awakens in late autumn, pushes out dense foliage through the winter, and transitions to flower in spring (September to January) as the leaves begin to yellow and recede.
Provide routine, thorough waterings while the plant is in active growth, ensuring the medium dries out extensively between sessions. When the summer heat causes the plant to go bare, withhold water completely to protect the subterranean tuber from fungal rot.
Position the plant in a highly ventilated area receiving maximum direct sun. Insufficient sunlight will cause the leaves to stretch wildly and cause the pale pink flower colors to look washed out.
