• Light Requirements: Give it bright, diffused light. A south- or west-facing window with a sheer curtain is ideal. If the plant is thin, spindly, or stops making pitchers, it needs more light. 
• Pure Water Only: Never use tap water, well water, or bottled water. The mineral buildup will burn the roots and kill the plant. Use only rainwater, distilled water, or reverse osmosis water. 
• Moisture, Not Sogginess: Keep the substrate consistently damp. Top-water thoroughly whenever the surface layer begins to feel slightly dry. Do not let the pot sit directly in a stagnant pool of water, which triggers root rot. 
• The Perfect Soil: Never use standard commercial potting soil or compost. Plant in a loose, nutrient-free mix of 50% long-fiber sphagnum moss and 50% perlite.
