• Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight. A sunny east- or west-facing windowsill is perfect. If it doesn't get enough light, the pitchers will stay completely green; if the leaves turn reddish, it is getting a good amount of sun.
• Watering (Crucial): Never use standard tap water, well water, or bottled mineral water. Its roots are highly sensitive to dissolved minerals. Use only rainwater, distilled water, or reverse osmosis (RO) water. Keep the potting medium consistently damp but never waterlogged or sitting continuously in a saucer of water.
• Substrate: Grow in a nutrient-deficient, well-aerated medium. A classic mix is 50% long-fiber sphagnum moss and 50% perlite. Never use standard potting soil or fertilizer-loaded mixes like Miracle-Gro.
• Humidity & Temperature: It is comfortable in standard home temperatures (18°C to 29°C / 65°F to 85°F). While it appreciates higher humidity (above 50%), it easily acclimates to average household air as long as the soil remains moist.
