A dwarf succulent from the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains south of Ladysmith, in the Aizoaceae family.
These plants form small clumping leafy bodies. They have a velvety texture, and when they split, it seems quite alien, they tend to rupture and tear through any place on the old leaves and never through the fissure on the top of the fused leaf pairs.
Their care can be quite complex.
They need a steady supply of water. In Summer they should be watered lightly once a week with daily mistings. In Winter, they should be watered less, but misted daily.During Spring they flower, and water us once again helpfull. Late spring they start to split, and only then, they are to be kept completely dry.
