Forms compact, upward-pointing rosettes that typically grow up to 5–6 inches tall. It multiplies slowly over time by generating small offsets ("pups") at its base.
The leaves are rigid, dark green, lance-shaped, and curve slightly inward.
Produces a tall, very thin flower spike during its active growing season. The spike bears modest, tubular white flowers with light pink or green striping.
Requires bright, indirect sunlight. Prolonged exposure to intense afternoon sun will cause the green leaves to turn a protective deep reddish-brown color.
Must be planted in a highly porous, gritty medium (such as a 70% pumice/perlite and 30% organic succulent soil mix) to guarantee rapid drainage.
