Requires heavy shade or soft, filtered indirect light. It handles a 60% shade cloth exceptionally well or should be placed further back from intense indoor grow lights to prevent the pale, sensitive mint epidermis from scorching or yellowing.
Avoid planting in pure pumice, as growers report it can severely stunt or stall sordida root growth. Instead, use a highly porous, gritty mix composed of 70–80% mineral aggregates (akadama, pumice, fine lava grit) blended with a tiny fraction of premium sifted organic soil to encourage its thick, slow-growing roots.
