Grows as a compact, structurally sharp, multi-ribbed sphere reaching roughly 4 to 6 cm in diameter before it begins to cluster tightly around its base. 

Features 8 to 14 prominent, narrow ribs highlighted by deeply etched, horizontal crossbands. The pink variegation runs vertically down the ribs, contrasting with the dark horizontal grooves. 

Carries short, weak, slightly curved amber-white radial spines that lay flat against the areoles, allowing the striking skin tones to remain completely unobstructed. 

 In spring and summer, it produces satiny, elegant funnel-shaped flowers from the top crown that typically open in a delicate pale olive-yellow to yellowish-green tone.
