Watering Dynamics: It is extraordinarily drought-tolerant. When grown in containers, water it 2–3 times a week during hot summer growth spurts only if the soil dries rapidly. Completely stop watering if it enters dormancy and drops its leaves to prevent root death.
Sun and Temperature: It demands full, baking desert sun to develop its signature thick, waxy coat and tight spine formation. It handles intense heat easily but must be protected from freezing, wet winters
