Substrate Formula: It demands absolute drainage. Use a highly mineral substrate mix composed of 80% coarse grit (pumice, fine lava fines, and sharp sand) and only 20% sandy loam.
Watering Regimen: Follow strict opportunistic desert rules. Water thoroughly during the hot summer growing months only after the soil has gone completely dry. Cease watering almost entirely in the winter to mimic the dry dormant season of its native Kalahari ecosystem.
Light Exposure: Requires bright indirect light to unfiltered full sun. Ample light prevents the finger-like arms from stretching out (etiolating) and losing their naturally congested, low-profile geometric shape.
