Growing in a well drained limestone soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to twelve or even 30 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant from five to 25 centimetres in height. It change through time, from a subglobose juvenile stage to a small shrublet. Cuttings tend to look adult - and a bit strange. The flowers are yellow.
