Is a small, perennial succulent cactus species in the family Cactaceae.
It is a low-growing subshrub that forms compact clusters of solitary or offsetting stems, which are spherical to club-shaped and measure 4–4.5 cm in diameter and height.
The stems feature erect tubercles, 10–12 mm long, with deep grooves extending to their bases, densely covered in glassy-white spines: typically 4–5 stiff, needle-like central spines (11–14 mm long, occasionally dark-tipped) and around 33 radiating radial spines (6–12 mm long, straight or slightly curved).
