• Substrate Composition: Grown successfully in highly inorganic mediums. A standard collector mix is 75% pumice or perlite combined with 25% loam or organic leaf mold.
• Watering Warning: Water lightly throughout the winter growing season. Avoid splashing water directly onto the leaves, as trapped moisture easily induces rot. Cease watering entirely during its summer baking period.
• Growing From Seed: Sow the papery black seeds in autumn using 10 cm deep pots filled with sterile, sharp sand. Press seeds thinly onto the medium and cover with a very thin layer of sand. Keep the soil damp but never waterlogged; sprouts appear in roughly two weeks.
