Spreading crown of rigid, pinnate, gray-green leaves measuring 80 to 160 cm long. The leaflets are narrow and widely spaced, creating a distinct silhouette resembling a fish skeleton.

Robust and cylindrical, reaching up to 40 cm in diameter. New leaves often emerge with a fine, silvery-white hairy coating (tomentum).

Requires full sun to partial shade.

Demands excellent drainage, replicating its native rocky canyon terrains. It is highly drought-tolerant once established, but responds well to regular water during hot summer months.
