Copiapoa cacti are slow-growing.
Needs full, direct sun to maintain its shape, color, and powdery farina coating. In lower light, they can become etiolated (stretched).
Use a very fast-draining, mostly mineral mix, such as 75% pumice and 25% organic potting mix (or succulent soil).
Water sparingly in summer, only when the soil has completely dried out. If the plant appears wrinkled, it may need water. Stop watering entirely during the winter.
Prefers warm, dry conditions (20°C–30°C/68°F–86°F). They are highly susceptible to rot, so excellent ventilation is required.
