This succulent is native to the island of Socotra in Yemen ( hence the name Socotrana ). It has a stem that reaches about 7 meters in height with numerous branches and a scaly bark from the brownish color that over time tends to become gray. Its small fleshy leaves are green, in some cases dark green with rough surface and serrated margins.
