Adhere to a strict moderate, soak-and-dry cycle. Only water when the soil has completely dried to the bottom of the pot. Keep the substrate perfectly bone-dry throughout winter dormancy.
Demands an ultra-permeable, 70% to 80% mineral soil mix with very minimal organic matter. Combining a standard cactus base with heavy amounts of pumice, lava rock, and coarse sand ensures maximum airflow around its delicate taproot.
Prefers mild to warm ranges during active growth. Keep the plant safe from damp drafts and freezing conditions; it should not be kept below 4°C (39°F) for extended periods.
