Growing as a compact, completely stemless rosette of 16 to 20 leaves, it reaches a modest size of about 20 to 25 cm (8 to 10 inches) tall. Its thick, fleshy, grayish-green or light jade leaves are heavily ornamented with distinctive, oblong translucent white spots and bordered by tiny pinkish-red edges armed with forward-pointing sharp teeth. The plant suckers freely from its base, quickly creating low-growing, tight clustering colonies that can fill out a container or garden bed.
