The leaves are fat, smooth, and inverted egg-shaped (semi-cylindrical), narrowing sharply at the base. Unlike the standard green variants, this cultivar produces a heavy powdery coat of farina, giving it a frosty white base tone.

The upper half of each plump leaf is dappled with irregular, rich purple or dark maroon spots. Under strong lighting, these spots fuse into dramatic patches.

An absolute miniature, it reaches only about 2 to 4 inches (5–10 cm) in height. Over time, it forms a small, clumping mound on a short, stout, knobby stem that can develop a thick, woody base (caudex).

During summer, it pushes up a remarkably long, slender stalk (up to 14 inches/35 cm) bearing tiny, tubular, dusty-looking white-to-pale pink flowers.
